NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
Through exploration and experiences we co-create together, children will get exposure to developing their skills in: mathematics, language & literacy, creativity, art & music, science, social studies, and health & safety through whole group and small group experiences. We create a well-rounded experience that is built in routines, while also having unique experiences throughout the weeks and months of the school year. Children will have opportunities to build skills in a play-based environment, and also practice routines that are appropriate for school.
Much of children's development before kindergarten is rooted in social-emotional development, and many children who enter kindergarten struggle most with social engagement and emotional regulation. As a trained EQ educator, quality time with direct and explicit instruction in social-emotional regulation is essential to supporting children's understanding of themselves and their relationships with others. In addition to lessons directed in social-emotional development, we make sure to incorporate learning opportunities into play and social interactions, which is crucial for scaffolding and supporting social development and practicing strategies learned together as a class.
Focus on gross motor and fine motor development. Gross Motor: Core strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and large cross-body movements are the focus of our physical education program. As a branch of Little's Athletics & Education, we put an emphasis on exploring and experiencing sports and academics at an early age. Not only does this support kids in learning more skills, but also provides them with an opportunity to learn about new sports they may be passionate about later in life.
Fine Motor: building large muscle groups in arms and shoulders supports fine motor skill development, and we infuse our program with many opportunities to utilize large and small muscle groups to support children in building their skills for pre-writing and beginning handwriting in kindergarten.
Play is at the center of learning for children, and they are often rushed to start their traditional school experiences earlier. At Project Imagine Academy, we put an emphasis on allowing children to play and explore with learning opportunities, and giving them exposure to school-like routines so they can head to kindergarten confident and comfortable in a classroom environment.
We will use our imaginations to create meaningful and unique learning experiences based on children's interests, and imagine magical opportunities for children to immerse themselves in their learning
We will also make a point to venture out into the world and explore through field trips and guest experts to investigate and learn more from our environment.
We intend to create a program where parents and guardians are actively involved and able to enjoy their children's learning together as a community. We will have periodic experiences together to share our learning and celebrate all we've accomplished in our learning units. We will also provide opportunities for parent support and parent only events to strengthen community and provide supports for family needs.
